New Chief Assessor Hired for Framingham

The new assessor, replaces Dan Dargon, who left Framingham after almost two decades, for the chief assessor position in the Town of Belmont.

Framingham Town Manager Bob Halpin told Selectmen Tuesday night the town's Chief Financial Officer has hired a new chief assessor and he has confirmed her choice.

William G. Naser, currently the principal assessor for the Town of Medway since 2009 will become Framingham's new Chief Assessor.

He replaces Dan Dargon, who left Framingham after almost two decades, for the chief assessor position in the Town of Belmont.

Dargon was the target of many residents in the pas year after residential property tax bills increased significantly. Dargon had said the reason was a shrinking commercial tax base, but several taxpayers argued he was not assessing commercial properties accurately.

The position was advertised by the Town of Framingham at $77,154 to $92,205.

Naser previously worked as an assessor in Boxborough and Hopkinton and has experience as a private appraiser.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Framingham Pierce University. Naser is a candidate for a masters in public administration at Framingham State University.
