New Construction Scheduled for Concord Street/Old Conn Path

Framingham Department of Public Works issued its weekly update on road construction in town and where to expect delays and detours.

Chouteau Avenue/Florrisant/Lakeview Avenue: Sewer main and water main construction will continue on Chouteau Avenue, Florrisant Avenue and Lakeview Road.  While construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour local traffic around the work zone. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Click Here For Map

Concord Street/Howard Street/Waverly Street: Utility construction activities on Concord Street will restrict traffic to a single lane of travel in both the northbound and southbound lanes of Concord Street between Howard Street and Waverly Street. It is necessary to perform this work during the overnight hours to maintain public safety, minimize adverse impacts on emergency response time, traffic flows and business in general.  Construction activities are scheduled during the overnight hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.  Click Here For Map

NEW: Concord Street: Gorman Road to Worcester Road (Route 9): Sewer manhole work will occur on Concord Street near the intersections of Anzio Road and Aberdeen Road. While construction is in progress traffic will be managed by using lane shifts with the potential for implementing a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
 
NEW: Concord Street/Old Connecticut Path:  It is anticipated that construction crews will excavate test pits and perform surveying work on Concord Street at the intersection of Old Connecticut Path. Traffic will be managed by using lane shifts with the potential for implementing a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Hemenway Road - Updated
Construction crews will continue to perform deep gravity sewer main construction on Hemenway Road progressing towards Colonial Drive.  While construction is in progress, a temporary closure of Hemenway Road at the intersection of Colonial Drive will be in effect.  Traffic traveling to Sudbury and residents of Colonial drive should follow the marked detour route; Eisenhower Road to Eaton Road, Eaton Road to Woodside Road, Woodside Road to Cider Mill Road and from Cider Mill Road to Raymond Road.  Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.  Click Here For Map

Prospect Street - Update: On Tuesday, Oct. 9 Prospect St. will be temporarily closed to through traffic from Central Street to Hemlock Lane.  To access Worcester Road, Follow Central Street to Edgell Road or Summer Street to Beacon Street.  Traffic at the intersection of Prospect Street and Central Street and Traffic on Lillian Road will be managed using a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Access will be provided to School Buses and emergency vehicles.  Construction activities will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Click Here For Map

Speen Street: Deep gravity sewer main construction is in progress on Speen Street between Old Connecticut Path and Cochituate Road.  Due to the location of the work zone, it may be necessary to detour eastbound traffic on Speen Street to Leggatt McCall Connector Road, from Leggatte McCall Connector Road to Cochituate Road while construction is in progress.  Construction activities are schedule to take place daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Click Here For Map
 
Webster Street/Everit Avenue/Lawrence Street/Clark Street
Water main construction will continue on Webster Street and Everit Avenue, Lawrence Street, and Clark Street between Grant Street and Bishop Street; while construction is in progress it will to detour traffic locally utilizing the side streets daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Click Here For Map

Department of Public Works Highway Division Projects

Arsenal Road Roadway Restoration: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will begin roadway reconstruction activities on Arsenal Road.  While construction activities are in progress, traffic will be detoured locally. All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area.  If you have any questions or concerns about the work being performed on Arsenal Road, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Work’s Highway Division at (508) 532-6030.
 
Winthrop Street/Wood Avenue Roadway Restoration: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue roadway reconstruction activities on Winthrop Street and Wood Avenue.  While construction activities are in progress, traffic will be detoured locally. All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area.  If you have any questions or concerns about the work being performed on Winthrop Street or Wood Avenue, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Work’s Highway Division at (508) 532-6030.

Department of Public Works Wastewater Division Projects

Waushakum Street Sewer Main Replacement: Construction crews will continue sewer main installation activities on Waushakum Street.  While construction activities are in progress, Waushakum Street will be detoured to through traffic utilizing Arlington Street, Eames Street and Alexander Street.
