It may be a crowded selectmen's race in Framingham.

Thursday, Framingham Parks & Recreation Director Robert Merusi became the seventh candidate to take out nomination papers.

There are two seats open in the April election, with one incumbent seeking re-election Laurie Lee. Current Selectmen Chair Dennis Giombetti announced in December, he would not for another term.

Candidates for selectman and other town-wide offices have until Tuesday, Jan. 14 to return nomination papers with 50 signatures of registered voters.

Framingham Assistant Town Clerk Lisa Ferguson said those who have taken out papers include Lee, Merusi, Cheryl Tully Stoll, Town Meeting member Dennis Paulsen, Doug Freeman, Deborah Butler and Ryan Gagne.

Only Tully Stoll has returned her nomination papers. You can only appear on the April 2014 ballot if a candidate returns the nomination papers with 50 verified voter signatures.
