POLITICAL NOTEBOOK: Senator Spilka Meets Obama

Framingham State Rep. Chris Walsh will host a BBQ for Framingham Democrats on Monday night.


State Senator Karen Spilka, who represents Framingham, met President Barack Obama at an event in Boston on June 29. Several Framingham Democrats attended a function in Boston last month and heard the president speak, including Framingham town attorney Chris Petrini and Town Meeting Member Bob Berman.

Democratic BBQ

will host Framingham Democrats for a BBQ at his home Monday evening. Candidates and elected officials are expected to attend this event, which supports the Democratic Party and causes important to Democrats.

Democratic Office on Route 9

The Massachusetts Democratic Party  recently opened a field office at 280 Worcester Rd. (eastbound side of Route 9) in Framingham. The office will serve as a local hub for campaign and party staff and grassroots volunteers who will use the spaces to stage canvasses, phone banks and other grassroots activities. Phone banks will be in operation Monday through Thursday evenings from 5-8  and canvasses are planned every weekend.

National Democratic Convention

The national Democratic convention is set for Sept. 4-6 in Charlotte, N.C. 

Massachusetts Democratic Primary

The Democratic primary election is Thursday, Sept 6.

Obama also charges $3. per drawiing to lunch with him and Michelle. Romney has fundraisers that cost $50K such as this one: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/politics&id=8684501

No, the President is not a bit greedy at all....Romney charges big time....Obama meets people without a charge when he is on his bus trips. He sells drawings at $3. to lunch with him and Michelle. Romney's got people donating from PACS without anyone knowing who they are or what country their from. He isn't against the Citizen's United position on this as Obama and Dems are, so when it comes to spending, for Romney there is no limit to his spending or what he'll take from others, no matter who it is.

I had read this was a $40k per person event! Maybe for a table of four I did shake scott Browns hand for free at Fenway today in $25. Standing room area.
