POLL: How Long Will Town Meeting Last?

Framingham's Annual Town Meeting started Tuesday night, but how long will it take Town Meeting members to finish the warrant?

Framingham's Annual Town Meeting started Tuesday night.

There are more than 40 articles on the warrant, at that pace it will take 3 weeks for Town Meeting to complete its task. Town Meeting meets on Tuesdays-Wednesdays-Thursdays.

How long until the warrant is complete?

Vote in our unscientific poll. (Sorry, no electronic keypad for this one.)

Town Meeting will be 48 nights. We're going for a record and trying to prove this town really needs a full time set of managers.

@Jeffrey - that will be less than 10 nights and that sound great to me!

I'm a newbie at Town Meeting, but I love hearing what everyone has to say. A couple of things annoy me, like people on their laptops and smartphones, people loudly chit-chatting, but I find the debates very interesting. It's amazing to me how many opinions there are across the town, what matters most to people from the different neighborhoods, what brings people together, what people will admit to believing in a side conversation that they don't seem to want to speak out about, and on and on. I've met some really nice people, and some not so nice people. That said, since I get to work around 7:30am and go straight from work to the meetings, I'm a little bit exhausted right now, and the thrill of democracy is starting to wear just a little bit thin LOL. Was that way off-topic? I'm a little too tired to be ultra-coherent right now!

@Kim - I'm okay with people on laptops and smartphones -- as they could be following Framingham Patch's live blogging - but I would hope they have their sound on mute. Also some TM member look up documents online that Town Meeting is discussing as opposed to reading all the paper printed out back - think green way of learning about things.
