Road Reconstruction Work Continues on Pleasant Street

The following is a report on construction projects that may affect your commute and travels through Framingham, according to the Department of Public Works.

“A” Street/North Concord Street: The northern portion of "A" Street from the intersection of Concord Street to Winch Park Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic while sewer main construction is in progress.  Construction activities are anticipated to progress north from the “A” Street Waste Water Management Facility crossing Concord Street to tie-in to the newly installed deep gravity sewer main in an easement adjacent to Concord Street.  When construction activities progress from “A” Street crossing Concord Street, traffic will be maintained utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan.

Additional crews will be performing water main installation on Concord Street working from the intersection of School Street working toward “A” Street and from “A” Street working toward the Sudbury River. While construction is in progress, traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan.  Expect delays while traveling in the area. Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

Arthur Street/Clinton Street/Mansfield Street
: Water main construction will continue on Arthur Street, while construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour Arthur Street utilizing the side streets daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Crews are wrapping up water main line work on Clinton Street; once the water main line is complete a service crew will mobilize and begin to install service connections from the mainline to individual properties.  While construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour Clinton Street utilizing the side streets daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Once the main line work is complete on Clinton Street, that crew will mobilize on Mansfield Street to begin water main construction.  While construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour Mansfield Street utilizing the side streets daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Chouteau Avenue/LaSalle Avenue/Lake Road/Lakeview Avenue
:
Construction crews will continue to install temporary water main bypass piping and install valves on Chouteau Avenue, LaSalle Avenue, Lake Road and Lakeview Avenue.  Crews will also continue to install deep gravity sewer main on Choteau Avenue.  While construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour local traffic around the work zone.  Expect delays while traveling in this area.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Eisenhower Road
: Construction crews will continue to perform sewer main construction on Eisenhower Road working from Eaton Road towards Arbetter Drive. While construction is in progress, traffic will be jogged through the work zone with lane shifts and could potentially be managed utilizing a local detour of traffic utilizing the side streets. Expect delays while traveling in this area.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Irving Street:
Construction crews will continue to perform water main installation on Irving Street between Columbia Street and Hollis Street.  While construction is in progress on Irving Street; Irving Street will be reduced to a single lane of travel for both northbound and southbound traffic, please use caution when travelling in this area.  In order to maintain public safety, minimize adverse impacts on emergency response time, traffic flows and business in general, construction activities will be performed during the overnight hours between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

Pleasant Street:
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue to perform roadway reconstruction activities on Pleasant Street between Vernon Street and Mill Street.  While construction activities are in progress, traffic through the work zone will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area.  


Prospect Street Roadway Reconstruction
: The reconstruction of Prospect Street will involve improvements to the storm drain system, the removal of the road surface to a gravel base and installation of the asphalt base and top courses. Sidewalks and curbing will also be removed and replaced. To enhance public safety, Prospect Street will be closed to through traffic while the roadway is reconstructed. Travelers are asked to seek alternate routes or follow the posted detour for Prospect Street. Worcester Road businesses will be accessible from Worcester Road and the intersecting driveways on Prospect Street. The roadway will be open to residential and emergency vehicle access only until the anticipated completion of the roadway base course in late August.

Sidewalk Restoration – South Concord Street
: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will perform sidewalk restoration on the east side of Concord Street between Lincoln Street and Hartford Street.  While construction activities are in progress, there is a potential for lane shifts.  Please use caution when travelling in the area.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.  If you have any questions or concerns about the work being performed on Pleasant Street, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Work’s Highway Division at (508) 532-6030.

The Department of Public Work’s Highway Division will continue to perform roadway modifications in the following locations:  Burbank Circle, Corrine Drive, Davidson Road, Gregory Road, Hadley Road, Joyce Road, Lancaster Drive, Oakvale Road, Overlook Drive West, Rolling Lane, Sloan Drive, Whittemore Road.  Roadway construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Expect delays when travelling in these areas.
