Sen. Warren 'Disappointed' in Supreme Court on Abortion Buffer Zone Ruling

Massachusetts' senior senator says she is disappointed by the U.S. Supreme Court ruling.

Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren released the following statement today, June 26, after the United States Supreme Court issued its opinion holding that the Massachusetts buffer zone law is unconstitutional:

“I am deeply disappointed by today’s Supreme Court decision striking down the Massachusetts buffer zone law. Make no mistake – it is now more difficult to protect the patients and staff of health clinics from violence, intimidation, and harassment. While I strongly disagree with this decision, the Court was also clear that states and the federal government can still take a wide variety of other steps to address this problem. We now have work to do to take the necessary steps to ensure that all women and their doctors are protected from harm.”
