Tough Choice: World Series or Special Town Meeting?

Post a comment: Would you show up to Town Meeting tonight and miss watching game 1 of the World Series?

Night 3 of Special Town Meeting ended in controversy. It was not over an article but over when to meet next.

Tonight, Oct 23 is game one of the World Series at Fenway Park with the Red Sox taking on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Several Town Meeting members wanted to adjourn Town Meeting until next Tuesday, Oct. 28, but Town Moderator and Town Counsel would not allow it.

Ways & Means Chair Audrey Hall questioned why Town Meeting couldn't be called into session and closed immediately like it did on the primary election night.

A motion was then made to change the start of Town Meeting tonight and it passed.

Town Meeting members will meet a half hour earlier at 7 p.m. in Nevins Hall in the Memorial Building, with the hope of finishing up the warrant.

The big question is will there be a quorum at 7 p.m. or anytime tonight?

Several Town Meeting members said leaving the hall Tuesday they would not be in attendance.

Tell us: Should Town Meeting be in session tonight? If you were a Town Meeting member would you attend?
