Warren on Senate Legislation on Pharmaceutical Compounding

"I'm pleased the Senate has voted to consider the Drug Quality and Security Act, which will help regulate the pharmaceutical compounding industry and secure our pharmaceutical supply chain. Because the tragic fungal meningitis outbreak that killed 64 people and made 751 sick just last year originated in our state, regulation of drug compounding is particularly important to the people of Massachusetts, " said U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren Tuesday, after the Senate successfully voted to begin consideration of the Drug Quality and Security Act:


Last fall, Framingham-based New England Compounding Center was linked to a deadly fungal meningitis outbreak.
