Where To Expect Construction This Week in Framingham

Framingham's Highway Division will perform surveying work, drainage improvements and tree trimming on Salem End Road and the surrounding area between Badger Road and the Ashland town line.

The following is a traffic alert issued by the Town of Framingham Department of Public Works for this week:


Indian Head Road: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue to make drainage improvements, do survey work and reset curbing. Expect minimal traffic delays.

Potter Road Area: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will finish paving sidewalks and pour concrete ADA ramps. Catch basins and manholes will be raised in preparation for finish paving. Expect delays while traveling in this area.

Surface Treatment Program: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will perform road surface preparation work, including but not limited to remove and restore curb work, casting adjustments, driveway apron adjustments and where necessary new curb installation around traffic islands at Eaton Road and Woodside Road. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternation traffic management plan. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays while traveling in this area.

Cochituate Rail Trail: MassDOT contractors will be doing erosion control on the Cochituate Rail Trail beginning at the south limit adjacent to TJX.

Eaton, Chalis, Nob Hill Roadway Restoration: The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue casting work as well as removing and resetting curbing to proper grade. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays while traveling in this area.

Edgell Road: The contractor for the Department of Public Works will perform overnight milling and paving along Edgell Road between Central Street and Route 9 on Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Detours will be in place. Please expect delays while traveling in this area.

Mellen Street & Winthrop Street Roadway and Sidewalk Improvements: Construction crews will begin to install construction signage in anticipation of the start of roadway and sidewalk improvements. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternation traffic management plan. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays while traveling in this area.

Saxonville Intersection Improvements: Utility construction crews are anticipated to continue the relocation of utility poles in the vicinity of Concord Street, School Street and “A” Street. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternation traffic management plan. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays while traveling in this area.

Winter Street Bridge over CSX: NSTAR and other utility relocations will continue in the vicinity of the bridge. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternation traffic management plan. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays while traveling in this area.
