2,800 Items Collected During Walsh Middle's Thanksgiving Food Drive

Walsh Middle School students also raised more than $3,000 in donations. The money raised and food collected went to 30 Walsh families in need.

Walsh Middle School students collected more than 2,800 food items and raised more than $3,000 during its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, said Principal Teresa Carney.

From November 1-22, homerooms were asked to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations. The students raised more than $3,000, from individuals, local businesses and the Walsh PTO.

The money was used to purchase full Thanksgiving dinners that were provided to 30 Walsh families, said Carney. Additionally, each family received a share of the donated food, said Carney.
