Boys Track Speeds Past Norwood Mustangs

The Framingham High boys track team defeated Norwood High at the Reggie Lewis Center 71-24 Wednesday night.

Coach Chris Collins said it was a great night for the team.

The boys swept the one mile race, with senior Andrew Gramigna capturing first place with a time of 4.54 minutes. Junior Mike Adley finished second at 5:13 and sophomore Matt Gramigna finished third at 5:15.

In the 1,000 juniors Mychal Lipson finished 1-2, with times of 2:55 and 2:59.

Framingham also finished 1-2 in the 2-mile race. Senior Chris Day took first at 11;13 and sophomore Tom Bogue was 6 seconds behind.

Senior Jesse Wing won the 55-meter hurdles.

In the 300, Ben Groleau finished first at 38.13. Sophomore Luke Halberstadt took second at 39.28 and freshman Tiago Torres placed third at 39.76.

In the 4x400 relay, the Flyers captured first place. Anchored by Bo Lewis, the team finished at 3:37. (Halberstadt/Groleau/Fitzpatrick/Lewis).

in the 55 dash, Lewis captured first with a state qualifing 6.95 time and junior Andrew Roschen finished third at 7.27 seconds

Rounding out the track events, senior Dan Fitpatrick took second in the 600 with senior Andrew Vincuilla placing third.

In the field events, junior Mitch Feldman captured second in the shot put with a 40 foot throw.

Senior Jake Devlin finished first in the high jump with a height of 5-feet, 110inches. The Flyers swept that event with sophomore Emmanuel Kalamu and Jesse Wing both jumping 5-feet, 7-inches to place second and third, respectively.

In the long jump, Andrew Roschen placed second with a leap of 18-feet, 10 inches and junior Matt Cronin placed third with a jump of 18-feet, 4 inches.
