The Framingham State University women’s volleyball team remains unbeaten in conference action this season after defeating Bridgewater State University 3-1 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play at Framingham’s Athletic & Recreation Center Tuesday.

Entering the contest, the Bears and the Rams were sitting atop the MASCAC standings at 3-0, but now the Rams take sole possession of the top spot as they improve to 4-0 in the conference and 18-5 overall on the season.

Framingham State took the first two games by scores of 25-20 and 25-17, before Bridgewater State took a close third set. The Bears maintained the lead for much of the third game but the Rams rallied from four points down to tie the set at 22-22.  After trading points, the Bears used a pair of Framingham hitting errors to secure a 29-27 win in the third.  The Rams regrouped and jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the fourth eventually taking the set and the match 25-16.

The Rams were led by junior Andressa Fernandes, of Framingham, who filled the stat sheet with a game-high 21 kills, 11 digs, a block and a pair of aces.  Freshman Danielle Girard and sophomore Ashley Nee also recorded double digit kills with 15 and 12 respectively.
