Parents Form King Elementary PTO; Play Date Today at 10 a.m.

Parents, whose children will be members of the inaugural class at King Elementary School, have formed a PTO.

This morning, July 19 at 10 a.m. there is a playdate for children and parents of the first class at King Elementary to get to know each other at Hemenway Elementary's playground.

Note: King Elementary's playground is still part of a construction zone.

The PTO's first fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 3 at Samba's from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more details, click here.

Due to overcrowding issues at the Framingham Public School's elementary schools, the administration is opening the King Administration building as the town's ninth elementary school in August.

This year, the school will have just kindergarten students. The first day of school is Aug. 28.

In 2015-16, the school will have both kindergarten and first grade classes and will add another class each year until it is a K-5 school.
