Percussion, String, Guitar Among Musical Lessons Offered at PAC

Framingham schools and Performing Arts Center of MetroWest continuing partnership to offer group music lessons for fourth grade students and ensembles for fifth graders.

This year, Framingham Public Schools re-introduced free elementary band instrument lessons during the school day to fifth graders students.

But unlike before the budget cuts, students can not take percussion or string lessons and there is no band ensemble for fifth grade students.

Also while the elementary instrumental music program is making a comeback this year, fourth grade students are not included in the free lessons, as they were prior to the budget cuts.

The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC) is stepping up to provide inexpensive after-school music lessons at PAC for fourth grade students, and band and string ensembles groups for 5th grade students.

PAC will offer percussion to both grades and is also introducing guitar to the
for fifth graders too.

Instruments taught include: flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, trombone, drums/bell kit and guitar.

Classes are starting this week. Some financial assistance is available.
