Retired Arlington Principal Appointed to Stapleton Elementary

Stapleton Elementary School families can meet their new interim principal and assistant principal at a meet & greet event tomorrow, April 3 at the school.

Paul Lamoureaux  has been appointed the interim Assistant Principal for Stapleton Elementary School.

Lamoureaux starts his new position today, April 2, according to an email sent to Stapleton Elementary parents Monday afternoon.

Lamoureaux is a retired building administrator from Arlington. During his career, he served as a middle school principal for 20 years and an elementary principal for a decade. Lamoureaux has also served in various interim administrator roles in Sudbury and has experience as an elementary teacher in Grades 4 and 5.

Last week, former Stapleton Elementary Principal Joseph Smith resigned. He started at Stapleton at the beginning of this school year. He was placed on administrative leave in March.

On Friday, Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott appointed Dunning Elementary School Principal Kimberly Taylor as interim principal at Stapleton Elementary School for the rest of the 2013-14 school year. She will be principal at both elementary schools. Taylor has been principal at Dunning since 2009 and is principal of the district's only level 1 school.

Lamoureaux will be at Stapleton Elementary School on a daily basis assisting Taylor until the end of the school year.

The intention is to have the new permanent Stapleton principal and vice principal by the end of the year, said the email to parents.

A search committee is expected to be formed and start the process this month.

“I was impressed by Mr. Lamoureaux’s administrative experience and hands on educational experience,”  said Scott.

Taylor and Lamoureaux will be available to meet families at a meet & greet event  tomorrow, April 3 at 4 p.m. at Stapleton Elementary School.
