SLIDESHOW: Adults Hope to Learn English By Winning the Lottery

The adults, who hailed from South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, all hoped to win free English as a Second Language classes offered by Framingham Adult ESL Plus.

Hundreds of adults packed Fuller Middle School Tuesday night, with the hope of winning the lottery.

The adults, who hailed from South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, all hoped to win free English as a Second Language classes offered by Framingham Adult ESL Plus.

The program, operates as a department of the Framingham Public Schools, and is mostly funded through federal and state money, including Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and a Community Development Block Grant. The program also relies on individual donations and fundraising.
