SLIDESHOW: Happy 140th Birthday to Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni

New Framingham State University President Javier Cevallos attended the 140th birthday celebration at Alumni House.

In 1874, the Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni was formed as a non-profit organization.

The association was incorporated as a separate entity in 1914 to insure that funds entrusted to the care of our alumni association will always be available for students and our alumni.

This week, the organization celebrated its 140th birthday with an open house at Alumni House at 42 Adams Road in Framingham.

Cutting the cake was Marilyn Minahan Foley, Framingham State Class of 1958, and Kathleen Ryan Roberts, age 99, Framingham State Class of 1937.

They were later joined by Marilyn Booth Manzella, Class of 1969, current Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni Executive Director Debbie Cleveland, Class of 1973 and new Framingham State University President Javier Cevallos.

Inside Alumni House is an exhibit to the history of Framingham State, campus life and its alumni. The exhibit is open weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. excluding holidays. There is no fee.
