SLIDESHOW: Terrier Trio Perform for Cameron Students

Cameron Middle School's jazz band performs for school at lunch.

The following was provided to Framingham Patch from Cameron Middle School:

Christine Dupuis, Cameron Middle School music teacher and band director, organized a guest performance of three Boston University music majors to come to Cameron and play for her students on Tuesday, Dec 17.

This musical performance treated Cameron students to live classical, baroque, and romantic music.

The BU trio, comprised of two doctoral music major students and one graduate level music major student (flute, oboe, piano) donated their time and shared their talents with aspiring Cameron music students.

The BU trio performed baroque, classical and romantic music for the students. The Cameron flute players (flutists) learned some trill tricks and how to play songs on just the head joint (part of the flute).

For many students, this private live concert was a first time hearing professional musicians. The grad students hope to come again soon.

The Cameron students are 6, 7, & 8th music students. Dupuis is the Cameron instrumental and band leader of programming that includes music lessons as a part of the middle school day.

Cameron has a 6th grade band, 7& 8th grade band, and a Jazz Band. Dupuis also teaches instrumental music at Stapleton Elementary School. Cameron also has a middle school orchestra and music including general music, keyboarding and chorus.

On Friday, Dec. 20 the Cameron Jazz Band performed Jazz at lunch for all Cameron students, staff, and family. The set list included holiday songs such as Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland, plus My Girl, and Satin Doll.

Soloists, Alex Moore on trumpet, Nick Neves on alto sax, and Darla Santos on alto sax performed.

Aiden Hepp, Stapleton second grade percussion student joined the Jazz Band along with four other Stapleton Elementary music students for the performance, including Tristan Elkins, 9, on the trombone.

Dupuis' arranged all of these musical treats for Cameron. She was very pleased with the students' performances.
