Spear Appointed SPED Director and Grieci Appointed Bilingual Director

Ildefonso Arellano was appointed Assistant Director of Special Education for Framingham Public Schools.

The following is a press release from the Framingham Public Schools:

Dr. Stacy L. Scott, Superintendent of Schools, is pleased to announce the following appointments: 

  • Ildefonso Arellano, Assistant Director of Special Education
  • Gen Grieci, Director of Bilingual Education
  • Laura Spear, Director of Special Education

“Over the past six months, I have been continuously impressed by the work these three individuals have accomplished while serving in theirActing positions,” commented Dr. Scott. “These team players have workedwith all members of the District to continue and initiate best practices in their respective fields.”


Arellano started in Framingham in 2003 as a Speech and Language Therapist and has also served as a Special Education Team Evaluation Coordinator.

Grieci is nearing the completion of 25 years of employment with the District having served as an ESL teacher, ESL/Bilingual Department Head and Assistant Director of Bilingual Education.

Since 2001, Spear has worked for the Framingham Public Schools and has worked as an Assistant Special Education Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Special Education Team Coordinator and Special Education Assistant Director.

Dr. Scott’s final comment on these appointments was, “I believe that these three directors will be implementing and initiating innovative programs so that the students serviced will far exceed our high expectations set with high standards.”
