Stapleton Elementary Principal Resigns

Interim Principal named is existing principal at another of Framingham's elementary schools.

Stapleton Elementary School Principal Joseph Smith resigned Thursday, March 27.

Dunning Elementary School Principal Kim Taylor will serve as the interim principal for the rest of the school year. She will continue to be principal at Dunning Elementary, the school district's one level 1 elementary school, as well.

Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott informed parents of the leadership change at a tea Friday morning. A letter is expected to be sent home to all parents.

Scott met with staff at the school Thursday afternoon.

Framingham Patch reported earlier this week that the Principal was placed on administrative leave.

Last week, Framingham Patch was the first media outlet to report in issues with the state-mandated MCAS testing at the elementary school.
