Superintendent "Pausing" Walsh Principal Search

Framingham Superintendent: "I am pausing the present process and redirecting the search to seek an interim candidate from among current Framingham Public School employees."

Last week, the two finalists for Walsh Middle School Principal - Andrew Rosenshine and Karen Tower, spent time with the Walsh community.

"I have reflected on community feedback, my time with the candidates, and the needs and future of the school. I am pausing the present process and redirecting the search to seek an interim candidate from among current Framingham Public School employees," announced Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott Thursday afternoon in an email to parents.

In mid-April, Scott announced 3 finalists for Walsh Middle School.

Parents and the community were invited to meet the finalists on May 1.

Current Walsh Principal Teresa Carney, who lives in Framingham, is leaving to become principal at a middle school in Natick, after 11 years in the district.

Candidates will be presented to the Walsh community including building tour, staff and student meetings, and forums for staff and the community.

"I anticipate receiving the names of interested candidates within a week and establishment of candidate schedules for the week of May 19. I am targeting announcement of the Interim Principal by the end of May," write Scott to Parents.

"I am confident that this approach will lead to the appointment of a building leader who will successfully lead Walsh during the  2014-2015 school year," wrote Scott.
