Framingham School Committee has two new School Committee members.

Newly-elected to the Framingham School Committee were Donald Taggart, James Stockless and Michelle Brosnahan.  Voters elected three School Committee members to 3-year terms Tuesday night.

Taggart was appointed to the School Committee in June 2013 to fill the rest of the term vacated by Michael Bower, when he was elected to the the Framingham Board of Selectmen.

Stockless and Brosnahan are new to the Framingham School Committee.

Stockless served as PTO President in three of Framingham's schools, as an officer in the Townwide PTO, as a Precinct 6 Town Meeting member, and as the Vice-Chair of the Standing Education Committee. Brosnahan is a former PTO president at Stapleton Elementary School.

Both were Framingham Town Meeting members.

Stockless resigned his Town Meeting member position Tuesday night at the Framingham Town Clerk's office, after learning he finished second in the three-way race for three seats.

Afterwards, Framingham Assistant Town Clerk Lisa Ferguson swore in Stockless as a School Committee member with his wife Anne by his side.

Taggart topped the ticket with 2,018 votes. Stockless finished second with 1,974 votes and Brosnahan finished third with 1,954. The race was uncontested for the three seats. Former School Committee members David Miles and Carol Phalen both chose not to run for re-election.
