Warriors Run Past Flyers, 81-54

Jake Devlin and Edgar Kalinda qualified for states in the high jump, despite the team loss.

boys outdoor track team lost to Brookline Tuesday, 81-54.

The Flyers were missing a couple of key athletes in this meet, said coach Chris Collins.

The Flyers lost both relays and were swept in the 800 and miles races, said Collins.

Jake Devlin and Edgar Kalinda, with jumps of 6 feet both qualified for states in the high jump. They finished second and third respectively in the meet Tuesday.

Senior Julian Kilicarslan qualified for state in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet and 8 inches. It also earned in first place in the meet.

Kilicarslan tied with Tim Waithewith tosses of 98 feet and 6 inches in the discus, however Kilicarslan won the tie breaker to earn second place. Waithewith finished third.

Senior Bo Lewis won the 200 (23.3 seconds) and the 400 (51.3 seconds) for the Flyers. Ben Groleau qualified for state with a time of 51.4 seconds in the 400, finishing second. Lewis had already qualified for state in both races. Lewis captured second in the long jump at 18 feet and 1 inch.

Junior Kevin Welch finishes first in the triple jump at 37 feet 9.5 inches.

Groleau captured first in the 2 mile with a time of 10:08 minutes. Junior Brian Gilligan finished third at 10:29.

Devlin was the fastest Flyer Tuesday finishing third in the 100 at 11.9 seconds.

And finally, senior Robert Coukos finished second in the javelin with a throw of 137 feet.
