Welch Out in Westborough; Still Being Considered For Dedham Superintendent

Framingham High School Principal Michael Welch did not get the Westborough Superintendent position, but is still a finalist for the Dedham Public Schools post.

Framingham High School Principal Michael Welch had his final interview for the Westborough Superintendent position Wednesday night, before the Westborough School Committee.

Welch received a call at 10:15 p.m. that the Westborough School Committee voted to offer the position to Weston Public Schools Assistant Supt. Amber Bock.

"I am grateful to have had the opportunity to interview as a finalist and am humbled by the support I have received from so many of you.  I am one very lucky guy," Welch wrote to Framingham High parents tonight, March 26.

Welch is still a finalist to become Dedham Public Schools Superintendent.

The Dedham School Committee and central office representatives made a final site visit to Framingham today from noon to 4 p.m.

"I remain one of three finalists there. They will be meeting tomorrow night (Thursday) to open deliberations on their choice for the next superintendent in Dedham. They will likely make an announcement either tomorrow night or at next week's meeting," Welch informed parents in an email.
