$3,000 MutualOne Grant To Spread the Sound of Golden Tones Music

Now in its 26th year, the Golden Tones Chorus consists of nearly 70 retirement-age singers and dancers who take part in more than 50 concerts and community events each year across the region.

MutualOne Charitable Foundation announced a $3,000 grant to the Golden Tones Chorus, to support that group’s plans for 10 to 15 concerts to be performed this year at senior health and housing facilities in Natick and Framingham.

Now in its 26th year, the Golden Tones Chorus consists of nearly 70 retirement-age singers and dancers who take part in more than 50 concerts and community events each year across the region.

“Our concerts have proven to be more than just a creative endeavor of self-expression, but a holistic experience of well-being for both the musicians and the listeners,” said Director Deborah Lee Marion.

The $3,000 grant to the Golden Tones Chorus was among awards totaling $43,725 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding, said Robert P. Lamprey, chair of the Foundation.

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation is a continuation of the Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation following the 2012 merger of Framingham Co-operative Bank and Natick Federal Savings Bank.

Since it was originally established in 1998, the Foundation has donated over $2.7 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
