Divergent Teens, Brazilian Soccer Fans To Converge in Downtown Framingham

Divergent series author will kick-off a four city tour for her newest book in downtown Framingham tonight at the Memorial Building and Brazil will battle Germany in the World Cup semifinal match this afternoon at 4.

If you are a not a soccer fan or a fan of New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's Divergent series, you may want to avoid downtown Framingham this afternoon.

In a 2014 FIFA World Cup soccer match Brazil will take on Germany in the semifinals today, July 8 at 4 p.m.

If Brazil wins anticipate a celebration in downtown Framingham anytime after 5:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m., Roth will kick-off a national four-city tour in Framingham, the day her latest book Four is released. Tickets are still available, by stopping by Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Shoppers World in Framingham. She will speak in Nevins in Hall inside the Memorial Building.

And while not expected as large a crowd, Framingham's Board of Selectmen are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the Ablondi Room in the Memorial Building. On the agenda is setting goals for the Framingham Town Manager Bob Halpin and approving a 5-year lease for new administrative offices for the Framingham Public School Department.
