Duo of Freshmen From Framingham Assist Dean College To Hoop Title

The Lady Bulldogs ended the season with a record of 17-6 and their first Region XXI title since 2002.

The Dean College Women's Basketball team captured the Region XXI Championships earlier this year, with the help of freshman Tiana Souza and Sophia Corbitt, both who hail from Framingham.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Orange County Community College, 81-76 to win the title.

This was head coach Grahm Smith's first year as the Dean College women's coach and his pressing and fast break style was instrumental in the team's success, as Dean led the country in steals this year, averaging 17 thefts a game.

The Lady Bulldogs, who were undefeated in the conference, lost to Essex County College (19-11)  to end their season. The winner advanced to the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
