Flyer Emmanuel Kalamu Finishes Third in Pentathlon

Framingham High junior captain David Welch finished in 13th place out of 18 competitors.

Framingham High senior captain Emmanuel Kalamu finished in third place overall in the spring pentathlon at Notre Dame Academy of Hingham Tuesday, April 22.

Each school is only allowed a maximum of two entries per team, said Framingham High boys track coach Chris Collins.

The third place finish for Kalamu (behind recent national indoor champion Nick Fofana of Newton North and an excellent competitor from Bridgewater Raynham) likely will place him among the top 12 Division 1 qualifiers for the state meet come June, said Collins.

Kalamu finished:

  • 7th in 1500 meter race
  • 3rd in the 110-meter hurdles
  • 2nd in the high jump
  • 10th in the long jump
  • 4th in the shot put
