Framingham Baseball Team Wins Gold Trophy

The 12 year old Framingham Bay State Team won the Gold level of round 1 of the Bay State Summer Baseball tournament.

The 12 year old Framingham Bay State Team won the Gold level of round 1 of the Bay State Summer Baseball tournament.

Teams play in a 3-round season, followed by the top 8 teams of the 36 teams competing in a playoff tournament in August. 

Framingham had a 5-1 record for the first round of the season, beating local teams including Natick, Concord and Sudbury.

This past weekend was the trophy round. On Saturday, Framingham defeated beat Bedford 9-5 in the Silver matchup. 

On Sunday, they defeated Sudbury 10-2 in the Gold round to win the Gold Trophy level, and to finish with an overall record of 7-1 in round 1 of 3. 

Players on the team are Jaylen Bailey, Tommy Clark, Bobby Manion, Ben Milavsky, Nate Nichols, Jonathan Reilly, Ben Reyes, Brett Shapiro, Evan Sleight, Trevor Smith, Mark Steele and Brian Tosi.

The team is coached by Head Coach Jason Smith and assistant coaches Peter Sleight, and Jack Zanco.
