Framingham State Baseball Seeded 5th in ECAC Championships

The 2014 Rams finished third in the Conference and were led by senior Billy Derosier of Shrewsbury. Derosier was a first team All-MASCAC selection who batted .318 with 41 hits and 24 RBI

The tournament is an eight team field with a quarterfinal round on Wednesday, a semifinal round and a championship round on Saturday and Sunday.

The Rams will travel to fourth seed Springfield College tomorrow, May 7th, for a 3:30 p.m. game. The Pride went 20-15 during 2014 and fell to MIT in the NEWMAC Tournament's best-of-three series.

The 2014 Rams finished third in the MASCAC and were led by senior Billy Derosier of Shrewsbury. Derosier was a first team All-MASCAC selection who batted .318 with 41 hits and 24 RBI.  

The Rams were led on the hill by senior Matt DiCato  and freshman Mike Andrews of Stoneham.  Andrews went 7-1 with an ERA of 1.25 this year en route to being named the MASCAC Baseball Co-Rookie of the Year.  In 64 innings of work he struck out 33 and allowed just nine earned runs with 5 complete games.  DiCato went 4-4 with a 4.00 ERA and 43 strikeouts.

The winner of the Framingham/Springfield quarterfinal will meet the winner of the Roger Williams/Becker quarterfinal on Saturday, while the winner of the Fitchburg/Salve Regina game will meet the winner of the Suffolk/Lasell match-up in the other semifinal.  The winners of the two semifinals will meet on Sunday for the championship.

The Rams last appearance in the ECAC Tournament was in 2012.
