Gracie Gold Named to 2014 Olympic Team; Practiced Last Week in Framingham

U.S. National Champion Gracie Gold, who held a closed practice at Loring Arena in Framingham last week, was named to the 2014 Olympic Team.

Skater Gracie Gold, who held a closed practice at Loring Arena last week, was named to the 2014 Olympic Team. She will compete in Socchi, Russia next month.

The naming of the U.S. Olympic team came with some controversy, but Gold's position was considered a lock with her gold medal performance last night.

Saturday night, Jan. 11. Gold captured first place and the gold medal in the U.S. National Championships at the TDGarden in Boston.

After the short program, Gold, who was born in Newton and learned to skate in Easton, was in first place. She lives in Illinois and trains in California now.

Gold won the silver medal in the 2013 National Championships.
