Framingham State Basketball Team Defeats Mount Ida 66-52

The win moves the Framingham State University Rams to 4-1.

Joe McCabe and Tim McCarthy each scored 15 points apiece as the Framingham State University men's basketball team defeated host Mount Ida, 66-52, in a non-conference game at the Mount Ida College Athletic Center on Saturday. 

The win moves the Rams to 4-1.

McCabe and McCarthy combined to shoot 11-of-19 with five three-pointers as Dan Gould added 14 points off the bench. Patrick Cuff corralled nine rebounds and blocked three shots while Charles Collins doled out six assists. Collins and Jamie Henderson  each grabbed eight boards for the Rams.

Treace Macklin  scored a game-high 18 points as Cam Walker pitched in with 11 and Everett Ramirez added 10 for the hosts. 

Mount Ida shot exactly the same from the field (9-26, 34.6%) in each half, while the Rams started the game hot, hitting 45.7% of their shots before the break and then cooled down (25.7%) in the second half, settling for a similar shooting percentage to the Mustangs by the end of the game. Framingham State claimed a 50-35 edge in rebounding, including a 19-6 margin on the offensive glass.

The Rams are off until the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and they will also be on the road, travelling to play Western Connecticut State in a 7p.m. game.
