SLIDESHOW: Boston Cannons Skills Competition in Framingham

Congratulations Boston Cannons Skills Competition age group winners from Framingham: Nicholas Bell, Jacob Seletz and Lars Olsen.

The Boston Cannons, a professional lacrosse team, held a youth skills competition Tuesday night at Framingham High.

The skills competition had boys age 14 and under compete in lacrosse skills against kids their own age for a chance to advance to the regional skills championships on August 9 at Harvard Stadium,prior to the Boston Cannons home game.

The age group winners were:

  • 9-10: Nicholas Bell
  • 11-12: Jacob Seletz
  • 13-14: Lars Olsen

The boys competed in these three events:

  • FASTEST SHOT: Each player had to take 3 shots from a pre-determined marked distance from the goal. The shot that registers the fastest speed on the radar gun determined the score for the skill.
  • ACCURACY: Each player had 60 seconds to shoot up to all 10 balls into the net, which is covered with the Accuracy Guard.
  • GAUNTLET COURSE: Each player follows a course will cones and then took a shot on goal.
