SLIDESHOW: March Madness At Walsh Middle

For the past 15 years, students in grades 6-7-8 have participated in a 3-on-3 hoop tournament at Walsh Middle School in Framingham

It's spring, so that means it's time for basketball at Walsh Middle School in Framingham.

For the past 15 years, students in grades 6-7-8 have participated in a 3-on-3 hoop tournament.

More than 60 teams, both girls and boys, participate in the tournament. Each team names themselves after colleges and universities and design their own t-shirts.

Monday and Tuesday, the sixth graders competed.

Today and Thursday, the seventh grade teams will take to the court.

And next Monday and Tuesday, the grade 8 teams will play.

The two-week, double elimination competition, which features championship games for all three grades, is also a fundraiser for Walsh Middle School.

The tournaments have raised more than $125,000 over the years.

On March 27, a double-decker bus will take the team on a field trip to Springfield to tour the NBA Hall of Fame.
