Team Framingham Fundraising Breaks $40,000

Team Framingham runner Vernon Turner has raised more than $4,000 for Resiliency for Life. Twenty-five runners are raising funds for six Framingham non-profit organizations.

Team Framingham is comprised of the 25 Framingham residents and town employees, who were randomly selected in December to receive invitational entries from the Boston Athletic Association, for the 118th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21.

A fundraising obligation is required of those who received the invitational entry from the Town of Framingham. The minimum fundraising commitment is $500 with a goal of $2,000.

The runners are in the process of raising funds for one of the following six organizations: 

  •  Boys and Girls Club of Framingham (7 runners) 
  •  Framingham Education Foundation (7 runners) 
  •  (FYI) for the Arts (2 runners) 
  •  Friends of the Callahan Senior Center (3 runners) 
  •  Resiliency for Life (2 runners) 
  •  Pearl Street Cupboard and Café (4 runners) 

The top runners, having raised more than $1,000 each to date, are:
  • Vernon Turner (Resiliency for Life) at $4,655
  • Katherine Schneider (Pearl Street Cupboard)
  • Lorelei Capuzzi (Boys and Girls Club)
  • Beth Lawson (Framingham Education Foundation)
  • Gail Gregory (Boys and Girls Club)
  • Matthew Warren (FYI for the Arts)
  • Richard Coe (Pearl Street Cupboard)
  • Mary Fitterer (Framingham Education Foundation)
  • Cori Sage (FYI for the Arts)
  • David Wells (Friends of Callahan)
  • Melissa Wells (Friends of Callahan) 
  • Brianna Stefanini (Friends of Callahan)
  • Laura Grome (Resiliency for Life)
  • Stuart Hurowitz (Boys and Girls Club)
  • John Greeley (Framingham Education Foundation)
  • Denise Murphy (Framingham Education Foundation)

The runners are being advised in their training by the Greater Framingham Running Club.
