The recent surge in oil prices continues to drive an increase in gasoline prices. AAA’s July 16 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.479 per gallon, nine cents higher than a week ago, according to a press release.
The current price is eight cents above the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.39. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.71.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents, from a low of $3.35 to a high of $3.69. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week: Spark plugs must be in good condition. Some will last for 100,000 miles, but may need to be replaced more often.
