Flyers E2 and E1 Squads Both Score Wins Against Wayland-Weston

The Framingham E1 and E2 Mites Division teams both captured huge wins this past Sunday Against Wayland-Weston.

Here are the highlights of the E1 and E2 Mites Division football games from this past Sunday.

E2: It was a cold Sunday morning, perfect weather for football. The Flyers were getting ready to face off with Wayland-Weston.

When I talked to the E2 head coach John Ackerly prior to the game, he said he expected a lot from his opponent today and said they were a good team. The first half was full of action. The Flyers defense had some great defensive stands stopping the Wayland-Weston offense. Joseph Balboni had multiple tackles, as the defense played well.

The Flyers offense had a great running game as running back Cody Coleman rushed for two scores, one for 52 yards and another for 40 yards. On one score he dropped the ball on his way to the end zone, picked it up, and kept running to finally score. Running back Joseph Ferrante also had a good first half. The score was 12-0 at halftime.

At the start of the second half, Wayland-Weston recovered a Framingham fumble. They took full advantage of this driving down the field and scoring, making the score 12-7. But the rest of the game Framingham’s defense played stellar, not allowing another touchdown. Joseph Balboni played great again, and Jackson Zanella, Alexander Lopez, and Brendan Treacy made some key stops. Cody Coleman scored yet another touchdown, this time for 65 yards, and Brendan Treacy and John Yerardi had some good rushes, too.

Framingham won by a final score of 18-7.

E1: In a pregame interview with the E1 coach Kevin Morgan, he said that it was going to be a tough game, but if their team did the right things, they would be “just fine." The Flyers were more than just fine.

In the first half, Wayland-Weston struck first and the score was 7-0 Wayland-Weston. But after that, it was all Framingham. For their first play Akye Boston ran for a 65 yard touchdown, but it was called back because of a penalty. The next play after that, Jamar Williams ran for a 65 yard touchdown, tying the game at 7-7. Akye Boston had a 70-yard touchdown run and Heriberto De Jesus played great on the defensive side of the ball with many tackles. The score was 13-7 Framingham at halftime.

Framingham dominated the second half. Akye Boston had one more touchdown run for 25 yards and Jamar Williams also added on another score. Waldeney Santos Jr. had a 40 yard touchdown and the offensive line blocked well during the game. The defense continued to play well, with great performances by Heriberto De Jesus, Waldeney Santos Jr., and Keion Mitchell Samuel. Andrew McIsaac also had an interception, as the Flyers won 33-7.

Both teams take on Milton next week. I'll post results of the game here on Framingham Patch.
