Flutie 5k to Raise Cash for Autism Research

The 12th annual race on Sept. 25 will raise money for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. Registration can be done online and the day of the event.

About 1,000 runners are expected to run 3.1 miles on Sunday, Sept. 25 to raise money for the , located in Framingham.

The 12th annual 5k race will begin at the MetroWest Medical Center's in Natick at 11:05 a.m. Since the race began, over $375,000 has been raised for autism research.

“Laurie and I really enjoy the 5K,” said Doug Flutie, a Natick native. “We are proud to have the support of over 1,000 runners each year, who come out with their families and friends, to help raise money for Dougie’s foundation. We see all ages and abilities at this race, and it’s something we really take pride in. Everyone and anyone is welcome to join us, and we hope to see you there!”

The cost to run ahead of time is $20 or $25 on race day. Teams of 10 to 19 people may register Online before Sept. 25. for a reduced price of $15 each and teams 20 members and older may pay $10 each.

To register on the day of the race, arrive between 9 and 10:45 a.m. The first 800 people to register will receive a long sleeve Reebok Play Dry t-shirt.
