Impact Framingham Awards $27,000 in Grants to 22 Organizations

Impact Framingham received over $98,000 in grant requests in its third grant cycle.

Impact Framingham  has announced the recipients of their 2014 grant cycle.

Impact Framingham is a local foundation that asks the people of Framingham, "What IF? What IF you had the money to impact your community? What would you do?"

In total, nearly $27,000 was given away to 22 organizations serving Framingham. 

The size of the grants ranged from $400 to $2,000, with an average award 
amount of approximately $1,200. Impact Framingham specifically chose 
the grants which support their mission “to enhance the civic, educational, 
recreational, cultural and/or benevolent interests of Framingham and its people.”

Impact Framingham received over $98,000 in grant requests in its third grant cycle.

According to Bob Berman, President of Impact Framingham, “We 
continue to be impressed with the caliber of grant submissions that we receive each year. It is a great feeling to help out so many people and organizations that want to make a difference right here in Framingham." 

The Impact Framingham Board, comprised of 14 individuals from the nonprofit, business, and public sectors, reviewed the submissions and approved the grants. 

The 2014 Impact Framingham grant recipients are:
• A Place to Turn - $1,000 for personal care/health items for families
• Access Framingham - $1500 for teaching technology
• Autism Alliance of Metrowest - $900 for Kite Day
• Creative Arts Council of Metrowest - $1000 for the Lexington Symphony 
concert for fourth graders
• Danforth Museum of Art - $1,000 for Drop Into Art family programming
• Framingham Community Theater - $1230 for an Evening of Radio-On-Stage
• Framingham Downtown Renaissance - $1500 for a downtown 
contemporary mural 
• Framingham Food Pantry - $2,000 for fresh fruits and vegetables for food 
pantry customers
• Framingham History Center - $1,500 for Dennison - Its Local and Global 
Impact
• Framingham Public Library - $1,560 for town wide summer reading 
programs
• ITN Greater Boston - $1,500 for volunteer recruitment
• Jeff’s Place - $1,400 for a bereavement support group
• Jewish Family Services of Metrowest - $1,000 for facilitating participation in organized team sports
• John Andrew Mazie Foundation - $1,000 for mentoring program
• Leadership MetroWest - $1,395 for a scholarship for the Leadership 
Academy
• Make It Happen - Framingham Public Schools - $800 for honors World 
History students
• Metrowest YMCA - $1,000 for lifeguard certification classes for low-income teens
• Open Spirit - $1,200 for Veteran's yoga classes
• Programs for People - $2,000 for adults recovering from mental illness
• Resilency for Life - $1,000 for math and science peer tutors
• Saint Bridget School - $400 for 2014 International Dinner
• Summer Scene - Framingham Public Schools - $1,000 for Summer Scene 
scholarships

Impact Framingham expects that they will begin accepting applications for the next grant cycle in February 2015. Interested organizations should refer to Impact Framingham's website at impactframingham.org.
