Janet Leombruno To Receive the Good Scout Award

The Knox Trail Council of Boy Scouts will honor Framingham resident and volunteer Janet Leombruno Thursday evening, Sept. 15.

The of America is holding a reception to honor Framingham resident Janet Leombruno on Thursday, Sept. 15 at Ken's Steak House.

Born and raised in Framingham, Leombruno attended and . She graduated from Framingham North in 1981.

Always a trail blazer, she was one of the first two girls in Framingham to play Little League baseball.

She has volunteered at the YMCA to help young children in many activities and excelled in training youngsters gymnastics. For 13 years, she volunteered for numerous programs at .

Leombruno has coached soccer for Framingham United Soccer Club for 6 years. She has coached baseball in Framingham for 13 years and also coaches TBA basketball. She serves on the board of directors of Framingham Baseball and is a Framingham Baseball Commissioner.

A long-time Framingham Town Meeting member, Leombruno is chair of the Public Safety Committee. She also is a member of the Real Property Committee. She has been involved with numerous town political campaigns and several state-wide races.

Leombruno spearheaded the effort to bring Toys for Tots to Framingham and has taken a leadership role in the annual toy drive, which is a joint effort between Framingham Baseball and the .

She has  volunteered at SMOC and Baypath to aid the elderly. She chaired the Good Scout award committee in 2008 and 2010.

Tickets are still available for the event at $35 per person. Meal includes assorted fruits, cheeses, Ken's salad,steak tips & meatballs. Net proceeds will support the Knox Trail Council of the Boy Scouts.
