Pink Ball Raised $8,000

"We were able to issue checks for $2,700 to the Burke Family, Yvette Diaz and Joyce Osgood," said MetroWest Boot Camp Owner and Community Outreach President Kristen Houlker.

MetroWest Boot Camp Raised $8,000 with ticket sales, silent auction and donations from its first ever Pink Ball, said MetroWest Boot Camp Owner and Community Outreach President Kristen Houlker.

"Our survivors were incredibly grateful and surprised, as were we," said Houlker.

"We were able to issue checks for $2,700 to the Burke Family, Yvette Diaz and Joyce Osgood," said Houlker.

"Joyce also won the raffle and won the Disney passes that were donated and will use them to take her grandchildren when she is well," said Houlker.  Houlker said
"Joyce wrote us a very sweet thank you letter letting us know that she would be using the money to purchase a new compression sleeve. She had 14 lymph nodes removed at the time of her mastectomy leaving her with lymphedema. Even with her insurance, a sleeve of this kind costs her upwards of $800 out of pocket and she has to wear it day and night and cannot go in the washing machine or dryer.  They only last about 6 months. She currently has one, which she needs to hand wash and then dry slowly with her blow dryer.  She will be purchasing a second one with this money.  It is so wonderful to hear that we could help her in such a meaningful way!"

"This was an amazing event and the outpouring of support from our community was absolutely incredible," said Houlker.  "We are looking forward to the second annual Pink Ball in 2014."
