SLIDESHOW: Volunteers, Scouts Place 1,500 Flags on Graves of Veterans

In anticipation of Memorial Day Monday, an Eagle Scout candidate helped organize the placement of flags on Veterans' graves at Edgell Cemetery Sunday with the Town of Framingham's Veterans agent.

In anticipation of Memorial Day Monday, Eagle Scout candidate Brendan Dilbarian helped organize the placement of flags on Veterans graves at Edgell Grove Cemetery Sunday with the Town of Framingham's Veterans agent.

On Sunday, dozens of volunteers including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and families placed about 1,500 flags on Veterans' graves at the cemetery.

The Town of Framingham will hold a Memorial Day ceremony Monday at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Building.

Dilbarian's Eagle Scout project is collecting old worn American Flags and holding a flag retirement ceremony at the Framingham Elks Flag Day Celebration on June 15th.  

"I have collection boxes at the Elks, Eagles Hall and St. George's Church" for old flags said Dilbarian. "There are also collection boxes at Town Hall."

All Framingham Scouts, boys and girls, are welcome to attend and participate in the retirement ceremony at noon on the 15, added Dilbarian.
