United Way Honors Volunteers, Businesses

recently recognized the achievements of those who give, advocate and volunteer at an awards breakfast at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel.

The April 30 breakfast honored individuals and companies that have made an impact in their local communities, specifically the MetroWest/495Corridor.

The Summit Award, the United Way of Tri County's top award was given to & FM Global for their top to bottom support of our United Way.

For the first time in the organization's history, a Volunteer of the Year Award was given. The recipient was Karin Segal, an outstanding nurse and volunteer at The . This inspiring individual was selected by a panel of community leaders including: Tim Fahey,Middlesex Savings Bank, Al
Cotton, NYPRO, John Strickland, Bose Corporation, Mark O’Connell, Avidia Bank, Patrick Flavin, The TJX Companies and Frank Saba, Milford Regional Medical Center.

Other awards presented included:

Lifetime Achievement Award to Al Cotton of NYPRO, for his demonstrated dedication throughout his career to improve our communities and inspire
others.

United Way of Tri-County Cornerstone Award to , Intel Massachusetts and UPS. They were honored for exemplifying the spirit of United Way, by providing a foundation of giving and serving as a role model for others and a testament of what can be achieved

Live United Award to Charlie Ryan, Billy Christopherson, Chris Murphy, Teddy Seasholes, Karl Helberg, Ginger Cutting, John Hobbs, Maria Cazares, Rosemary Fitzgerald, June Tuttle, Joe Mullen The award honors individuals, who are dedicated volunteers within our local United Way of Tri-County communities. These individuals volunteer their time with local schools, government entities or non-profit organizations.

Community Partner Award to SMOC. The Community Partner of the Year Award is given to one of our organization's  community partners that continually takes a pro-active approach to strengthening their relationship with the United Way. This non-profit has demonstrated effective co-branding strategies, media and marketing, and has regularly participated in speaking engagements and volunteer efforts.

United Way of Tri-County President’s Award to .The award was given to a board member for outstanding service and dedication to the community through United Way.

Good Neighbor Award to , Aldo Cipriano and Allegra Printing. The award is given to an individual or organization that make an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in our community.
