The Jedi training and fun battles were one of several activities held at the event at athletic field on Maple Street.

The 7th Annual Unbreakable Spirit Walk raised money for research into osteogenesis imperfecta, or OI. Individuals diagnosed with OI can break a bone easily.  OI is also known as “brittle bone disease.”

A person is born with this disorder and is affected throughout his or her life time. There is no cure. 

In addition to fractures, people with OI often have muscle weakness, hearing loss, fatigue, joint laxity, curved bones, scoliosis and brittle teeth. Restrictive pulmonary disease occurs in more severely affected people. It is estimated about 25,000 to 50,000 Americans have the disease.
