Toys Needed, Thin Mints Coming and Staging of Once On This Island

It's Monday, and that means Framingham Patch has put together this list of things going on in Framingham to help make your week a little easier and more fun.

1. Framingham Baseball will hold its 10th Annual Toys For Tots party, in conjunction with the Framingham Fire Department and Timothy's Toy Box to help MetroWest area children in need, have a brighter Christmas. Please bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl to O'Connell's Pub Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

2. Tuesday is election day. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Framingham. Voters will be asked to select one of four individuals to become the new U.S. Representative for the 5th Congressional District, which includes 20-plus communities in three counties, including Framingham. For more information, click here.

3. Chocolate Therapy in Framingham is hosting an After Work Wine & Chocolate event on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees will learn about chocolate, how to pair it with fine wine, and sample 3 specially-created pairings. Admission $25 per person. To RSVP, call 508-875-1571.

4. Walsh Middle School will stage three performances of the musical Once On This Island on Friday and Saturday. Tickets available at www.ticketstage.com 

5. Love Thin Mint cookies?

Well, starting Friday, Dec. 13 Framingham Girl Scouts will begin door-to-door sales of cookies.

New this year is gluten-free chocolate chip cookies at $5 a bag. All other cookies, including the popular Thin Mints, Samoas and a new Cranberry Citrus Crisps will be $4 a box.
