Editor's Picks: 5 Things To Do Saturday, May 17 in Framingham

Expect delays near Cushing Memorial Park and Walsh Middle School due to two 5K road races in Framingham this morning.

  • Police Chase: The 8th Annual Framingham Police Chase for a Cure 5K Road Race will take place this morning at 9 starting and ending at Cushing Memorial Park. It will be held rain or shine., Expect delays around the roads near the park, including Winter Street and Dudley Road. The 5K races funds to support the ​Pancreatic Cancer Action Network organization focusing on research, outreach and education for Pancreatic Cancer patients and their families.
  • ​12th Annual Walsh 5K: Walsh Middle School will host its 12th Annual 5K run/walk ​today rain or shine.​ ​Proceeds benefit the Walsh “Best Buddies” chapter and technology for the middle school. The 5K starts at 10 a.m.​, with kids' track events at 11 a.m.​ For more details visit here.​
  • ​Vietnamese Restaurant Supports Framingham Library:​ Pho Dakao in downtown Framingham will donate 20​ percent of all lunch and dinner​ sales to the Framingham Public Library Foundation.​ Present the coupon (at this link​ http://www.framlibfoundation.org/2014/05/framingham-public-library-foundation-day-at-pho-dakao-on-may-17/​)​ to your server​. If you go for dinner, consider attending the classical concert fundraiser at the library at 7:30 p.m.
  • ​Anniversary Exhibit:​ Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni​, founded in 1874, have assembled a 140th Anniversary Celebration Exhibit at Alumni House, 42 Adams Rd. ​which is open to the public starting today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.​ For more details on the exhibit and the organization, click here.
  • ​Book Sale: ​The Friends of the Framingham Library ​will hold its monthly book sale today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ​Members may enter at 9.30 a.m. Literacy Unlimited also will have a Bake Sale from 9.30 a.m. to noon.
