Editor's Picks: 5 Things To Do Today, June 28 in Framingham

Car wash, family-friendly concert at Framingham Library this morning, Jazz at Amazing Things and Latino art exhibit at Fountain Street Fine Art Gallery all featured in today's picks.

Below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Saturday, June 28

  • Car Wash: The Framingham Parks & Recreation Swim Team is holding a fundraising car wash today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CJ's Northside Grill in Nobscot. $5 suggested donation.
  • Family-Friendly Library Concert: Musician Miss Lynn Sings Energy Everywhere at the main Framingham Library this morning at 10. Kids will sing, dance, and learn about the different forms of energy in this interactive concert with Nashville-based musician Miss Lynn. Through songs, participants will think about the ways energy is constantly changing forms within and around them in their every day lives!
  • Latino Art Exhibit:  The Fountain Street Fine Art gallery  will be open today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. showcasing its latest exhibit - We Are You: New England Edition exhibit
  • Cool MusicJeanne Jolly sold out last year when she performed at Amazing Things Arts Center. Tonight she is back and will take the stage at 8. Jolly broke onto the music scene as the featured vocalist for Grammy Award winning jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. Touring all through North America, she had the opportunity to sing with world renowned symphonies and perform at venues like Carnegie Hall and play marquee events such as the Monterey Jazz Festival. A diverse, classically trained vocalist, Jolly's voice is said to embody the "early belting power of Linda Ronstadt" (MetroMusicScene, VA) combined with "the delicate lilt of Alison Krauss" (NC Metro Magazine). Tickets are $20, $19 for seniors and students, $17 for members and $10 for children under age 12.
  • Swim: The town's trio of public beaches will be opening today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beach passes are required or you'll need to pay a daily fee.
