Plant-based eating, Thai food, money tips for kids, reception with artist and BINGO at Stapleton featured today.

Below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Saturday, March 8:

  • Kids & Money: The main Framingham Library is hosting a workshop for kids ages 7-11 to learn money saving tips at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required for the free workshop. Attendees will learn how to make good choices about spending, saving, budgets and goal setting with money coach Margie Slater.
  • Plant-based Eating: Learn about plant-based eating and taste a variety of vegan dishes prepared by passionate cooks, and learn how to include more easy plant-based options in your repertoire at Edwards Church in Saxonville at 12:30 p.m. Admission $5. The event is sponsored by Open Spirit, the Vegan MetroWest Network and Transition Framingham.
  • 20% off Thai Food: The Thai Place participating in the MetroWest Visitors Bureau's  Shop & Save MetroWest through Sunday, March 9. Mention Shop & Save MetroWest and receive 20 percent off your bill.
  • Artist Reception: The newest one-man show at Fountain Street Fine Art gallery is Kellie Weeks' Fabrications. The gallery is open today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. but tonight there is a reception with the artist from 5 to 7. Her paintings, "encaustic in nature, embark on an investigation in personal relationships that develop as a result of changing and shifting boundaries," according to the gallery.
  • BINGO: Stapleton Elementary School will hold its 3rd Annual Family BINGO Night from 6 to 8.
