Below are my editor's picks for things to do today, Saturday, May 31 

  • Golden Eagle Fun Run 2014This morning is Stapleton Elementary School's annual Golden Eagle Fun Run. Same day registration is available today at $30, starting at 9 a.m. The race starts at 10 a.m. at Dunning Elementary School and ends at Walsh Middle School. There is a half-mile fun run at 11 a.m. too. The Golden Eagle Run supports the school's physical education department, including field day, sports equipment and a turf field.
  • Playoff Softball: The Framingham Flyers softball team will travel to Malden, to play the 15-5 Tornadoes, in an opening round MIAA Division 1 Tournament game. The battle between #9 seeded Framingham and #8 seeded Malden starts at 4 p.m.
  • Pheasant Hill Civic Association Yard Sale: The Pheasant Hill Civic Association is hosting a neighborhood multi-home yard sale today from 9 am to noon. (Rain date will be Sunday, June 1.) For a listing of each address, click here.
  • 16-Family Yard Sale: The walkable Greenwich Neighborhood is hosting a 16-family yard sale today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, June 1. For a listing of each address, click here.
  • SummerfestDunning Elementary School will hold Summer Fest today from noon to 4 p.m. The Framingham Fire, Police and DPW departments will be on hand with vehicles and equipment for kids and parents to explore. At 2 p.m. jthere will by a Disney Frozen sing-a-long. Unlimited games and prizes are included with the admission price of $8. 
  • Fashion Show at Library: Spring Forward With Style, a fashion show to benefit the Framingham Public Library Foundation is today at 2 p.m. at the main Framingham Library. Admission also includes an afternoon tea with hot and cold drinks, tea sandwiches, and desserts to savor during the show. Fashions will be by designer Carol Anderson of Carol Anderson By Invitation Only (cabionline.com) and 10 percent of the sales proceeds for pieces from the collection ordered at the event donated to the foundation. The models will be Framingham middle school principals and library trustees. The event is sponsored by the Homework Center at the Framingham Public Library. Tickets is still available, are $20, and can be purchased at the library.
